iPro Sport was also the Official Time Out Partner of Star Sixes. The 12 nations who competed – England, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal, Scotland, China and Denmark – could each call a one-minute ‘time out’ during the group stages, when games lasted for 20 minutes. In the knockout stages, matches were 15 minutes each way, with a short break.
Organised by Pitch International (London), in partnership with Football Champions Tour, a leading sports management agency, Star Sixes reunited the world’s greatest players in their national team colours to renew old rivalries.
Each nation competing at Star Sixes, which was screened live by Sky Sports, boasted a ten-man squad.
The tournament featured a group phase followed by knockout stages – including penalty shootouts – culminating in the Star Sixes Final, where the trophy was lifted by France.
